Why race politics is one of the most important political issues

Race Politics
Race politics is one of the most important political issues. Not only has race politics changed since the beginning of politics, it has changed the way people think about others and what they can do. It is one of the most powerful political issues and in the 2008 Presidential elections, race politics were talked about more than ever.
Race politics have been around for many years. Martin Luther King Jr. took an interest in many political issues, the most important being race politics. In 1964 President Lyndon Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act. Since then race politics have been one of the most important political issues. Not until the 2008 Presidential Election has race politics been so discussed and picked apart. Politics have always been divided between Democrats and Republicans, left and right. But with America becoming so diverse, race politics are becoming a bigger and more important issue. There are many political issues that the government needs to face, but one of the most important of those political issues is race politics. Race has always been one of the most important political issues that America faced. From slavery to Affirmative Action, race has played a big role in America, and around the world. The United States of America used to be split and racially segregated. Many people who grew up during segregation said they never could have imagined that this would ever happen in their lifetime. Never before has the nation witnessed history like they did with the 2008 Presidential Election. A black man and a woman were both running for President of the United States of America. The 2008 Presidential Elections is considered one of the most important elections in history. There were so many other political issues in this 2008 Presidential election that were brought up including, foreign affairs, the economic crisis, the environment, education, taxes, healthcare, etc, but the most talked about political issues seemed to be race politics. The fact that a black man was running for President was the most important of the political issues that people were focusing on. It was so important because America is a nation that once had slavery and now we have overcome that and elected a black man for President. This 2008 Presidential election was extremely important because it changed the stigma attached to race and gender. Not only did a black man run for President, a woman ran, also. Women have always come second to men and there has never been a woman President. It really changed peoples opinions on what could be accomplished in American government. This election forever changed the way people think of, and practice, politics.
Race politics should always be considered one of the most important political issues because it plays a major role in the government and everyday life. There are political officials and figures now of many different genders and races and the government will continue to pass laws regarding race politics and justice.
