Political candidates

The political candidates of the 2008 Presidential Election were both covered heavily on all political news stations and regular news stations as well. Political news has swamped television sets, especially this year. Political news channels did a good job of covering both political candidates before, during and after the Election.

Political news stations have always covered political candidates in different lights, throughout the years. The most popular political news stations are CNN, Fox News and MSNBC. Many will say that most political news stations are liberal and favored Obama out of all the political candidates that were running in the 2008 Presidential Elections, but there are many that also believe that Fox News obviously favored John McCain out of all the presidential candidates, because they are a conservative political news station. But, throughout the years, the political news stations have done a great job covering the political candidates. For example, CNN was the first to expose the Watergate Scandal and the truth about Nixon. “Liberal” political news stations like MSNBC went to great lengths to cover the political candidates for the 2008 Presidential Election. They traveled all over the country, following the political candidates on their political election tours, spoke with everyday people on what issues they thought were most important and which of the political candidates deserved to win. These political news stations also covered the night of the Election extremely well. They had speakers from all over discussing the Election, newscasters in different states, guest speakers in hologram form, giant electronic maps showing the red and blue states. These political news stations really did a great job of covering the election. Not only do these political news shows cover the political candidates, they also cover other political news issues like the economy, social issues, war, environmental issues and foreign affairs. One of the most important political news stories that is being covered is the Stimulus Plan, which plans to give millions of dollars to banks and businesses to try and help the economy get back in full swing. Another important story is Guantanamo Bay. One of the presidential candidates, Barack Obama, who is now President of the United States, promised to maintain the highest standards of civil liberties and human rights and close Guantanamo, restore habeas corpus and ban torture. Same sex marriage has also been a big topic in political news. Before the election, both political candidates had opposing views on gay marriage. Obama didn’t say he was a supporter of gay marriage, but he is a supporter of civil unions. No matter which of the political candidates you voted for during the 2008 Presidential Election, the important thing is that everyone followed the political news and made the decision to vote.

Every election, the political candidates go head to head on major issues from taxes to education. The political news stations have always done the best job covering these political candidates, while providing news about other economic, financial, world, health and social issues.
